Road Toad Graphics and Web Design
got its name from a rock band I started with my son years
ago. The Road Toads - Kinda silly, but that was the whole point. The band
name stuck. The term was originally defined as a beat up
old car from the 50s or 60s, still runnning but in dire need
of restoration. It became my indentity in a way... I'm from the 50s
and could certainly use some restoration - or at least a long
vacation on a beach somewhere, collecting seashells, sipping on boat
drinks etc...
The band is now history but I have returned to the name for this project. It seems natural. As with any profession, it takes years to develop the necessary skills to reach a point where
I can go out and offer my services as a designer... to people who make a living with their businesses. It is something I take very seriously. These days, a significant percentage of your total customers can be directly attributed to having a good website. As the builder of your site, It only makes sense for me to take a personal interest in your success.
The Web Design project came to be when my band needed a website. Having taken classes in web design already, I decided to give it a try - seemed to come out ok too. That quickly led to several additional sites for other people. After a number of these over the course of a few years, the decision was made to take it a step further and offer the service in a more public way. That is the purpose of this site. You can see
a variety of examples from numerous projects here, plus links to some of the active sites designed by RTG & WD. You can
also decide if they are any good or not!
By
profession, I am an Electronics Engineer but that includes a lot of
computer work these days in addition to using various CAD drawing programs. I also had an interest in Journalism so the job of doing all the technical
writing and graphics for our manuals and other documentation became part of the daily routine. When necessary, I will snap a photo or two as well. At times, I do prefer to team up with a professional photographer who I know has an artist's eye and can do the more advanced camera/post processing stuff. It also helps to have additional people survey the overall composition before we go live with it online. So its showtime and we're ready to rock.
Hope to hear from you soon!
