The Road Toads (or “DJ and the Road Toads” for those formal, white hankie affairs) was formed in the spring of 2005 with Dave, Danny and Colby. After working out on several different musical directions, it was decided that the Toads were basically a Good Time rock band and started working on a bunch of songs. The summer of 2005 brought the Toads into contact with their soon-to-be drummer, Joe and bassist, Kevin. They discovered similar interests in music and hot rods so it was only natural that they join forces to see what comes out of it. They played their first gig in front of 200 people on September 3 after only 6 weeks of practice. The Road Toads today are an exciting, fun-loving group dedicated to letting the good times roll! The only thing they take seriously onstage is rockin’ your socks off! The band kicks it into overdrive as they cover a wide variety of rock… playing hit songs from the last 5 decades as well as some from right now. During the course of a show they can cover Rockabilly, Classic Rock, Punk, Folk Rock, Blues, Hard Rock, Alternative, Surf and other stuff too. One unique feature of the band is they are Family Friendly. That’s not too surprising since they have a 14 year old guitar player who can rock the house. Your whole family can join in on the fun! The Toads play regularly at some well-known Chicagoland night spots in addition to area pubs, clubs, corporate events, festivals and parties… and the list has been getting longer all the time since the band’s creation! “We hope you will cruise on out to catch our shows…we promise to strap down and floor it each and every time we take the stage…See Ya!"      |
