Credited. | Does my business need a website? This question is asked more often than you may imagine. In the old days, traditional advertising methods worked well. We all used the Yellow Pages, Thomas Register, Trade Magazines and other print media. These sources of information are still around but even they have migrated to the Internet to continue to be effective. In today's world, people turn to the Internet for instant information. A quick Google search will yield more potential vendors in a few seconds than hours spent "letting your fingers do the walking" To be competitive, any business or organization should have a Web Presence of some kind. Without it, you will simply miss out on substantial opportunities for new clientele. Additionally, there are a lot of sites, created years ago, that do not reflect well on the businesses they are meant to represent. These could benefit from a good makeover to stay fresh-looking and keep a competitive edge. Remember, your website is your online representative, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If it looks a little crude or shabby, potential customers will notice. That could influence them to form an unfairly low opinion of your operation from the get-go. | Road Toad Graphics and Web Design
got its name from a rock band I started with my son years
ago. The Road Toads - Kinda silly but that was the whole point. The band name stuck. The term was originally defined as a beat up old car from the 50s or 60s, still runnning but in dire need of restoration. It became my indentity in a way... I'm from the 50s and could certainly use some restoration - or at least a long vacation on a beach, collecting seashells, listening to the waves crash while sipping on boat drinks. The band is now history but I keep returning to the name for various projects. There are currently several of these going that bear the name: Road Toad Productions - Karaoke, Live Sound and DJ Service. Road Toad Amplification - Custom-built guitar amplifiers based on vintage tube amp designs. Road Toad Graphics and Web Design - The one this site is all about. By profession, I am an Electronics Engineer but that includes a lot of computer work these days in addition to using the various CAD drawing programs. I also had an interest in Journalism so I found myself doing all the technical writing and graphics for our manuals and other documentation. When necessary, I will snap a photo or two as well. The Web Design project came to be when I needed a website for my band. I had taken classes in web design already so I got to work. I guess it turned out ok as other people wanted me to do their sites as well. So I did. All that, combined with my career background and Whoosh! here I am - a graphics and website designer.
